Retail Concourse Renovations and Addition
Existing Passenger Concourse and Retail
The Airport Authority requested input for upgrading of the existing retail and service area. The Samuel Group prepared various planning and design studies to explore both improvements in the layout, circulation and image of the passenger concourse and retail service area on the existing departure level of the New Terminal.
Retail and Service Business Addition
A plan was developed for a major addition between the Old Terminal and New International Terminal. The concept for this facility is to develop an expanded Duty Free shopping area that will offer all consumer and capital goods from around the world and introduce Ethiopian manufactured goods merchandise, crafts and commodities to the rest of the world. Functions included with the retail shops would range from restaurants, business center, banking center, spa, VIP lounges, etc.
The new facility is proposed to be attached to the New Terminal and a pedestrian bridge has been proposed to link to the Old Terminal.
